A 15in strand of multicolored beryl polished stones. Colors that may be included on each strand are yellow (heliodor), light green (also heliodor or green beryl), pink to peachy orange (morganite), clear to cloudy (goshenite), and blue (aquamarine). Beryl is slightly harder than quartz, but internal fissures and inclusions can make it prone to impact fractures. The chatoyant "cat's eye" variant is very rare. The color variations are related to different mineral inclusions: iron in heliodor and aquamarine, vanadium/iron/chromium in green beryl, and manganese in morganite. Occasional inclusions of tourmaline needles or bands may occur.
